Research

The Ellen Key Institute

promotes qualified scientific research produced
at universities and other academic institutions about Ellen Key and her subjects.

gathers a network of scientists connected to universities and other academic institutions
and linkpersons to other institutions and societies.

finances publications of scientific work about Ellen Key.

Scientific research is one of the main subjects for the Institute.
The network is growing and consists today of 98 persons.
The Institute offers researchers to work in the Ödeshög location
and to use the reference library available there.
The Institute also establishes contacts and scientific information in digital form.

A new informative possibility for researchers is the annual
institute summary with indexation and
glimpses of current research and work in progress.

Exhibitions

The Ellen Key Institute

is in charge with support from Ödeshög munincipal of an exhibition room where photografic/artistic and design exhibitions with reference to Ellen Key are shown during the part of the summer, when Ellen Keys home and museum is closed.

Exhibitions in Ödeshög is one of the main subjects for the Institute. Last year we presented Ellen Key AtoZ a collective exhibition during the summer. Jessica Fleetwood presented her art two years ago in the summer-exhibition. In 2006 we presented four exhibitions: Irene Nordh, paintings and graffic, utan gränser : Bremer, Key, Wägner, Siw Pihl, paintings and Nobelprize winners.

Since the Swedish governement has proclaimed 2006 a multi cultural year the Institute chosed to expose three of the most influential women in Swedish history: Fredrika Bremer, Ellen Key and Elin Wägner. They were all controversial and strived to achieve changes in the rigid Swedish 19:th and 20:th century societies. And they all tried to widen the borders for women and men
(the name of the exhibition was utan gränser = without borders).

Literature

The Ellen Key Institute

offers researchers help in finding material about Ellen Key in cooperation with archives and libraries.

Offers a search tool over Internet for research material and a weblocation for information about Ellen Keyrelated homepages and projects.

Offers help to search for literature especially rare and unique and also caretaking of antiquarian literature in cooperation with Antikvariat Bokklippet, a well renowned antiquarian bookstore.

The Institute has initiated a useful tool to find books. We offer our services both to the public and to researchers. The main aim is to find rare literature, research material and scientific publications. The search function is one of the main subjects for the Institute.
